TEETH WHITENING

Save on a Brighter Smile: Plan Around Our Seasonal Whitening Specials

Planning to whiten before the holidays? From October through December, I'm offering take-home whitening for $455 (regularly $910). I'll walk you through when to start so your smile is camera-ready and how to make the most of our seasonal specials.

One of the questions I hear most from patients is some version of, "When should I whiten my teeth?" Usually there is something on the calendar behind it: a wedding, a graduation, family photos, or a holiday gathering. My answer is almost always the same: The best time to whiten is a little earlier than you think, and ideally when one of our seasonal whitening specials is running.

Good timing does two things for you. It gives the treatment enough room to reach its full effect before your big day, and it can make professional teeth whitening more affordable. Here is how I help patients here in Dearborn plan it out.

Why Timing Matters

Professional Whitening Is Not a Last-Minute Fix

Many people assume whitening happens in a single afternoon. Professional whitening does deliver dramatic results, but the options we offer work best with a bit of lead time.

KöR® whitening, our most powerful option, starts with custom trays that you wear at home while you sleep for about two weeks. After that, you come back to our office for a professional whitening session that completes the process and can brighten your smile by up to 16 shades.

Real Patient Result

This female patient had dental bonding performed on the upper and lower teeth, but first she brightened her smile using the KöR in-office whitening system. That allowed us to match the composite resin to the shade of her whitened teeth.

Our take-home whitening system uses custom trays and professional gel that you wear for about 30 minutes a day. Most patients reach their best results in about two weeks. It is one of my favorite options to recommend, because it checks a lot of boxes for patients:

  • Long-lasting results. Your brighter smile is not a short-lived effect, and the formula is designed to help your results hold their shade.
  • Gentler on sensitive teeth. It is formulated to cause less sensitivity than many other whitening products.
  • Sweetened with xylitol. This natural sweetener can help reduce the risk of tooth decay.
  • Vegan, gluten-free, and kosher. No animal products are used, and the gel is certified gluten-free and certified kosher.

Either way, you are looking at a few weeks from your first visit to your final shade. Some patients also notice mild, temporary sensitivity during treatment, so I like to leave a small cushion between the last whitening session and any event you are preparing for.

My rule of thumb: start the conversation four to six weeks before your event. That leaves time for a checkup, custom trays, the full whitening process, and a buffer so your smile is settled and camera-ready.

How Our Seasonal Whitening Specials Work

I know cost is the biggest reason people put off whitening. That is exactly why we run seasonal whitening specials throughout the year. The offer changes from season to season, so the easiest way to get the latest updates is simply to ask our front desk team when you call.

A few tips I share with patients who want to make the most of a special:

  • Ask early. If you have an event coming up months from now, call ahead and find out what is running. You may be able to start treatment while a special is active and still have plenty of time before your date.
  • Pair it with a checkup. If you are due for a cleaning, schedule them together. A professional cleaning removes surface stains first, which helps the whitening gel do its best work.
  • Think long term. Your custom trays are yours to keep, so future touch-ups are easy and affordable. A special is a great way to get started with a system that keeps working for you.

Compared to many other cosmetic treatments, professional whitening is already one of the most affordable ways to see a real difference in your smile. A seasonal special makes it even easier to say yes.

Flexible Payment

Missed a Special? You Still Have Options

Life does not always line up with a promotion, and your event date is not going to move. If you want to whiten before the next special comes around, we accept CareCredit®, a healthcare credit card that offers flexible monthly payment plans for qualified applicants. It lets you start now and spread out the cost over time.

Take-home whitening is also a lower-cost option than in-office KöR treatment, and it still delivers noticeable results. I am always happy to walk through both options so you can choose what fits your budget and your timeline.

Before You Book

Is Whitening the Right Choice for You?

Whitening works best on stains caused by coffee, tea, wine, soda, tobacco, and aging. It is less effective on deeper, intrinsic discoloration, and it does not change the color of crowns, fillings, or bonding. If whitening will not give you the result you want, I may recommend dental bonding or porcelain veneers instead, or a combination of treatments as part of a smile makeover. That is another reason I recommend starting early. If a different approach makes more sense, you will still have time to pursue it.

Common Questions

Whitening Specials FAQs

How do I get the latest info on specials?

Give our office a call at (313) 265-2303 or contact us online. Our team will let you know what is currently available and help you schedule a consultation.

How far in advance should I whiten before an event?

I recommend reaching out four to six weeks ahead. Both of our whitening options take about two weeks of treatment, and starting early leaves room for a checkup beforehand and a short buffer afterward.

Which whitening option is right for me?

KöR is ideal if you want the most dramatic and long-lasting change. Our take-home system is a great fit if you prefer a flexible, lower-cost option you can use on your own schedule, especially if your teeth tend to be sensitive. We will help you decide during your visit.

Can I use CareCredit for teeth whitening?

Yes. We accept CareCredit, which offers monthly payment plans for qualified applicants. It is a helpful option if you would like to start whitening now rather than wait for the next special.

“It’s rare to find a dentist’s office these days that feels so patient-focused, caring, and up-to-date. Many offices in this area can feel rushed, impersonal, or outdated, but here you feel valued and cared for. I can honestly say I’ve finally found a dental office I can grow with, and I couldn’t recommend Dearborn Family Dentistry more!”
